Flavors Of India

So, I spent the last 5 of 6 weeks in India for my brother’s engagement party and to visit my family there. While that was the primary reasons for my trip, the added bonus was that, I got to gorge on the local cuisines & foods around India that I’ve missed so much since I’ve moved to the States.

On my trip, I was mostly in my hometown of Pune (near Mumbai) in Maharashtra, India. We also traveled a few nearby cities as well as to the state of Goa, which has significant Portuguese influences in both its culture and cuisine. Needless to say, I enjoyed and soaked up the flavors of India all throughout my trip, feasting on home-cooked meals (by my mom) and eating out at my favorite joints & discovering new ones. As a food lover & blogger I tend to take a lot of pictures of whatever I eat (much to the annoyance of my husband, who waits patiently till I’m done before he can eat), to send to my family who loves food as much as I do. Now, I didn’t get a chance to do very many recipes when I was on vacation (just this one with my mom) so, I thought I would share some of the food highlights of my trip to India. Enjoy…
