A lot of people are weary of buying whole Pomegranates because they seem messy and tedious to cut and deal with. Why bother when you can pay a few bucks more and buy a cup already de-seeded?
You’ve probably seen people on cooking channels or other videos thwacking away at a cut pomegranate with a wooden spoon only to have a few measly seeds falling out and juices and pith flying everywhere. If that’s all knew…I’d be weary of buying the whole fruit and opt instead for the de-seeded cup myself. But, growing up in Indian where pomegranate is widely available and eaten, there’s no option but to buy the whole fruit….and so you learn how to cut and de-seed it. And let me tell you, it’s super easy if you learn how to cut it right (and it’s not in half like the spoon thwacking people will have you believe). If you cut the fruit right you’ll see how the seeds are patterned in the fruit and it’s super easy to roll them out with your fingers to get almost all seeds out.Whole. No bruising the seeds, juices flying everywhere staining your clothes. Just juicy red/pink jewel like seeds packed full of nutrient goodness. Once de-seeded you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for almost a week. It’s the perfect fruit to add to salads, cereal, oatmeal or just to munch on as a snack on their own.
Let me show you in my video below just how easy it is. You get so much more fruit when you buy a whole pomegranate and it’s fresher and not to forget cheaper! If you like this little tutorial please don’t forget to Subscribe to my NEW YouTube Channel and like and share this with your friends.
